But offshoring is a negative gain for our country. We can never compete with slave world environmentally unsound places unless we become like them.
This is just more "we're superior to everyone else!" thinking because its been repeated so often that people just turn their brains off and spout it without even a thought.
Why does a good job worthy of having in the US instantly become a "slave job" because it's no longer done in the US?
Answer: (say it with me now, you KNOW you believe it, so much it comes out of your mouth without even a seconds thought) because if its done here in the states its being done by we, the most superior people on earth! It's a great job automattically.
The instant it goes anywhere else... its a crap job. Being done by some form of INFERIOR. some slave. Someone with a 2nd grade education. Some dirty, slimy person who can't possibly measure up to a superior American, and so AUTOMATICALLY only has the job vs an American because not only are they a filthy slave, they and their whole culture are forever content to be that way.
Something like that, right?
So superior Americans can't compete with inferior foreigners! We can't bring ourselves down from our pedestals to the level of any other slime on this planet.
This is just a given. Always has been, always will be.
So given this indisputable law of the universe (US worker #1 in the world at education, skill, value to employers, desirability in a workforce vs everyone else: grungy slaves- all of this ofcourse backed up by not a single official stat anywhere, but that doesn't matter) Americans being special, with all our special powers, require special rules of competition unique to us. Our awesome jobs, designed around our unique awesomeness need to be guaranteed for us. I mean, even though we're more awesome than anyone else who can only compete based on enslaving themselves....we still need our birthright jobs artificially protected for us because for some unfathomable reason no one can figure out... businesses that offshore don't seem to hold the superiority of the US worker in high enough regard that it keeps them from saying "buh bye. So long."
If we're really so fucking special in this country that we collectively deserve 5x the pay of all those savage elsewhere... why don't we collectively get off our asses and fucking PROVE it?
This idea that we always have to compete based on slave labor is total bullshit. We need to get back to being the obvious choice for whatever industries we're worried about losing... and actually ARE losing. That means being the best at it, and making it an insane proposition that anyone would go elsewhere besides here to run that industry. All the stats that say we're the: best educated, most skilled, hardest working, most bang for the buck have to actually be there... in reality... not just in our over-inflated imaginations of ourselves.
And all if this IS ofcourse tied to the whole illegal labor issue. A nation that wants to keep its high paying jobs simply CANNOT give up all of its blue collar jobs to illegal labor. We're just pulling the rug out from under ourselves.
It's sad to me: take the example of labor unions.
Too many dimwits these days think a union is nothing more than another wing of the political party they worship, for the purpose of delivering votes and power to politicians.
The idea of it representing workers who band together and demand a higher wage is a distant back burner thing.
But in their original role, most people can understand that a union of workers is supposed to protect ALL jobs within the union. Theres a LINE that outsiders can't cross just because you can wander across it. "Hey, I'll do this lowly mechanic's job for half what this loser is charging! Hire me!"
Someone else in the union higher up doesn't roll over and go for that, just because it isn't his cushy job being turned to shit. The line is drawn... no one crosses it. The highest person protects even the lowest person's job from invasion because they understand where the line is, and that to undermine the bottom is to alllow the whole industry to undermine the whole shebang.
Nations have lines drawn too... borders. But too few understand its the same thing: you allow someone to cross that line and turn someone elses job into shit, eventually the domino effect will reach your level as well.
Instead of understanding that, we have a lot of people cheering on illegal labor over the line... go ahead, do someone else's job for peanuts. Doesn't affect me....I'm special. Management that will sell those lowly peons below me out for illegal labor will never do that to me! I'm special!
All of what were seeing happen is part of the same problems...people that think they're too special to ever get hit by reality....will eventually get hit hard by it.
