I picked up an Xbox bundle today with the Kinect and Nike+ Training. I failed to do my research on the Kinect so I didn't know the distance requirements for it to work well. The room with the TV's not big enough, so I poked around and stumbled on the Nyko Zoom, it gets really bad reviews. And from further searching it looks like the few other devices that do the same thing aren't any better. A few of the Nyko reviews said it was due to the crappy opticals used, which makes sense. But I'm not sure if that's the reason. Is there anything I can buy that will shorten the distance needed for me to use the Kinect with good results?
I also read that if you buy the LCD mount it shortens the distance needed, this sounds like hogwash, but maybe there's something to it? I have about 5 feet between the TV and the back wall, and this Nike+ has you doing a lot of high motion movements so even if I had the recommended 6 feet, I could only imagine I'd need a good deal more than that.
