For code books, I use them as reference guides so I still like paper (or Google...).

Beyond that, the non-tablet e-Ink readers are essentially identical at this point so it is pretty much all about whether you want to buy stuff from B&N or Amazon.

Books are nice when they're near me, but I like the e-readers so I carry many books very easily.

That said, I use a Nook Color with CM7 on it. That way, I can read Kindle, Nook, and PDF books. I then just d/l the format with the lowest price.

For any reference book you would be better off with a paper book.

E-readers just aren't suited for flipping back and forth like that.

Incidentally I am at work. I pissed myself with laughter at the 'talked about pooping' bit.

ereaders are better because they have this cool search function that is a lot faster than flipping paper pages

I've never, ever seen an e-reader with a good enough keyboard and fast enough software to beat me flipping to the index and then the page I need.

Unless you're doing really esoteric languages, Google is significantly faster than both though.
