Wife and I both have Kindle Fires with the same books on them. She is reading one on hers that I haven't opened.
She used mine the other day because I was taking a nap and hers was next to the bed and she didn't want to wake me.
When she opened her's back up, it knew where she was on both devices and asked her which page she wanted to go to.

Whispersync is pretty sweet, although it can be really annoying if you have multiple people on one account reading the same book at the same time.

I love the feature, my phone, e-ink, and fire are all always synced up correctly.

Yeah, it's pretty convenient. It is part of the reason I tend to buy Kindle books, they can be used on pretty much every single platform & it syncs between all of them.

Yeah never said otherwise. I just started with Kindle since they had it available first and I'm not re-buying :) I think the only thing between the 2 Nook doesn't have is web based reader.
