Kindle Fire on Verizon DSL

Been a couple of years since I last installed Verizon DSL WiFi for anyone so a question. A family I know who has no Internet now is getting Verizon DSL but only has a Kindle Fire and no other computers of any kind. They have asked me to connect the Fire to their soon to arrive DSL/WiFi Modem. Will I have to take a notebook to their house to initially install and set up the Modem/Router? I know how to connect the Fire after the initial setup. Or can all of this be done from the Fire? Thanks in advance for any responses.
