have a budgie, its leg has been weak for a while, but now its sitting around with it convulsing every second. its a weak chirp+spasm. i'm not sure how long it can keep this up, its pretty weak. kind of a sad way to go. u think i can spike its water with pain killer eventually?

It's sad. I remember when my dad and I would go pheasant hunting. He would twist the neck of a downed, but live bird and it put them out instantly. With a pet there is no easy way. I hate it when it comes down to it, but you cannot let the animal suffer. Is there something else you can do, and is the condition it has treatable?

notfred, that was pretty cold! :|

shoot it with a BBgun through the neck, thats as humane as you can get without having to go buy drugs. there are some other things you can do aswell, bleach + amonia makes amonia cloride gas and will put it down rather quickly. just make sure to do it in a closed container, you don't want to inhale this stuff PERIOD. if you have a glad container or large tupperware container that is probably best, just mix the chemicals in a small dish inside a large container and seal it quickly.

yikes, none sound very appealing:p

maybe i'll spike its water with asperin or advil. either it dies or feels better i suppose. its been weak for quite a while, but it didn't convulse before today. could be a tumor somewhere, i've read that it happens:p

also separated it from the other bird today. other bird is strong and has been picking on it for a while:p

notfred, maybe your lack of tact or appreciation for what he might be going thru......... just a thought. The end result is probably the same, but your bedside manor sucks dude. ;)
Do you romance a girl a bit before the act, or do you simply say "let's phuck!" See what I mean? ;)

It's probably a good thing that I'm not a doctor, huh?

Sorry if I was insensitive.

I do remeber though, one time Iwas at a friend's house, and a rat ran into his garage. It hid behind a toolbox, bwtween the toolbox and a cement wall. I gave the toolbox one good kick and that rat was done for. I don't think it felt much pain, it was dead in 1 second flat. It didn't bleed all over either, or anything, I just kinda crushed it....

Cool, you were, but you understand that. Also, realize that, guys, if you seem to have trouble getting laid, you need to remember this lesson. Anyone can get a prong in the pork, but the guy who does well, manages to hide the fork. (Tact, diplomacy, foreplay, ect.) ;)

Keep it warm. Make sure there are no drafts.. Put a light on the cage, and cover the cage in clear plastic to keep the heat in.

I have a 13 year old parakeet. ;) Trust me.
