Kinda Urgent: Best Way To Get Blood Out Of Carpet?

I apparently gashed about 4 square centimeters of skin off my big toe when I went to go get come Pop Tarts from the kitchen. I had been sitting at my computer for about 10 minutes before i noticed about a square foot section of red on the carpet. I turned on the light only to see that there was blood all over the place and I had tracked it all through my apartment! :( I soaked it down, but what's the best way to get it out? I really don't want to buy new carpet when my lease is up next month!

Cold water, and lots of it, just keep sponging up the water and adding more cold water until its gone...
Dont use warm or hot water it will set the stain.

If it is that bad, you might want to call a doctor, then a carpet cleaning service....

By the way, just in case your "stubbed toe" winds up missing, and the "toe"'s family reports them gone, and you were the last one seen with the "toe" and people knew you didn't really like "it", detectives have ways of making blood visible even if it appears gone... just FYI...that's all. ;) ;) ;)

I don't know of any carpet cleaning services to call at 10:15 at night. I'd go up to Wal-Mart and rent one but the last one I rented messed up the carpet even more.

There is a product called spot shot, get it in any grocery store. Seems to clean anything. Never tried it on blood though.

Heh. Now where do I buy some lime at? It seems to be coming up but my dumb self globbed lots of soap down so the carpet looks like crap. When it dries, can I get a Rug Doctor and go back over it to make it look like the rest of the new carpet? It is so matted down right now.

I've got a fella named "Jimmy" that can help clean this mess up. Go pick him up at the back of the warehouse on 4th & Mafia. Don't call the police yet.
