The Norwegians still club whales to death when they go whale hunting.
From what I'm told they don't do it for food. They do it for sport.
Clubing something to death for the heck if it is wrong(unless we are taking about a terrorist ;) ) At least the Japanese are using the dolphins for food.

3. people gotta eat.

4. once again, slashing their throats and letting them bleed to death is fvked up. At least kill it quickly you pathetic petty bastards:|

5. The fact that they are proven to be highly intelligent creatures and people have to eat aside, that was totally fvked up.

Agreed. That was a terrible way to kill them.

I personally think that the killing of dolphins/monkeys/other highly intelligent species should be outlawed. But maybe that's just me.

Too bad them raping sharks for their fins is far worse than this.

Fvkced up pieces of sh!t.

Not to generalize, but the Japanese do have quite a history of brutilizing sea-dwelling animals, at least in this century. I am not sure why though sicne I do not really know much about their culture except what I have learned in school.

I'm not guilty of anything. It would be impossible to feed the world if animals weren't killed.

Gimme a break.

While the act is certainly not an attractive one, man is an animal. Animals kill each other other. What do you think would happen if animals DIDN'T kill each other?

Never mind. This is a bleeding heart forum. LOL

Good thing I read the thread first, I won't watch that sort of thing. I love meat (hey.. get away from me ryan :Q) as much as anyone else but there's a big difference between killing for food as humanely as possible, and outright torture of other living beings.

This has been going on for decades. The infamous dolphin run at Iki island where the water is ruby red with their blood for days - is quite disgusting.

But it's not just the Japanese. Text

I think, as countries continue to develop, their sense of morality and values, social and otherwise, need to follow suit with that development. If we are to become a greater society, we must work towards applying more consistent levels of accepted behavior throughout society.

Animals are animals. We are above animals It's not so much that we should act above the level of animals, but that we can. It's this act, this act of ignoring our capacity to kill humanely for food that is damning.

Lagging social devopment in classes has always been a source of anxiety for societies as a whole so whatever I guess.....

blah blah..even I;m not lsitening to myself:p

the difference is that, on account of our intelligence, we can do things differently. like use our technology to kill humanely, without causing extended suffering. those men in that film are pigs, subhuman. Or, shock horror, we could do without some dumb munchy snack or pet food and let the dolphins go free.

They have a history of being brutal period. Look what that did to the Chinese civilians and US/British POWs during WWII. The only reason they are not brutal to humans these days is because we handed them their ass in WWII as they would not have been a merciful victor.
