Kinda OT: Taking a little vacation

Don't worry, just me, not my boxes. I'll be leaving to go to Paris (France, not Texas) on Friday and will be gone for a week.

My seti stats should continue for the most part unaffected, unless something major happens. My setiqueue's on a laptop, so barring a 3 hr+ interruption in power, everything will continue as normal.

My ECCP stats will go down for a while, since several of the boxes I run ECCP on don't have a constant connection, they'll still be producing points, but won't get a chance to dump for a 9+ days. The good news is, I'll have a nice little gift ready when I get back.

Since I figure Smoke's gonna be in this thread anyway, I'd appreciate it if you emailed me at my seti account email address if there's a problem with my seti stats. If I need to, I can get to the seti queue from an internet cafe, and although my wife will spend an hour telling me what a hopeless geek I am, I'd rather do that than lose in excess of 1000 WUs. Is that bad?

Now, anybody been to Paris that wants to tell me a place to definitely hit? I'm sure the wife will drag me to the standard tourist spots, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Versailles, and the like. Anybody from there? Thanks for the help.

It's 330 Km from Paris but it's a fun place to visit.

I haven't been to Paris France...but Paris Las Vegas was cool, hehe. Check out the Riviera (Eze Village is a cool overlook spot), Monaco and head to Cannes for some festive atmosphere perhaps?

I?ll have Ass1 (aka Assimilator1) check your stats and if they look like they have slipped, you will receive an email to your SETI EMAIL ACCOUNT telling you about it. 😉

Question: If you are going to be able to check your email, why can?t you just check Seti@Work for LastKnight ? It loads pretty fast and you can see your day by day production from anywhere in the world ? even FRANCE. 😛 😀

sounds good. The reason I'll be checking email and not seti@work is that it sounds alot better to the wife if i say, i've just got to run in and check my email, rather than, lemme just duck in here and make sure my seti stats aren't suffering... I mean, come on, there's a difference between a geek and a geek that covers it up in front of his wife... Maybe I'll just try a little sleight of hand to check on it, i.e. "look, isn't doesn't that sign says sale on women's dress shoes over there? why don't you go check it out while i check email..."

I fly out on the 6th, back on the 13th. I checked seti and it looks like Polo is from France. Any ideas on where to go?
