That over at BBR, whenever there is a OT thread, they get it locked? NO wonder their forums are so boring!! I'm glad I'm a member of the best dasm TeAm around :-D
 
I'm not sure how long you've been visiting the DC forum here, but it seems in the "old days" (that tells ya something, that I can talk about "old days" and I'm "younger" than most of the members here 😱) things were less strict than they are now. They were less strict, that is, until some newbie decided to come in and make everything "right" and started complaining to the mods every time we had a somewhat more clearly off topic thread. 🙁

However, I'll still take your word for it that these forums are better than BBR's... I have no desire to leave here, anyway. 😎

Some people say that they have some issues with this forum. Only because they police it and don't let the AOL whiners get away with half the stuff they do. Hence, the reason why I still come here.

I had my thread locked here in this DC forum. Well, don't really know if was locked... I looked for it and it was gone the next day. Yeah it was way off topic but pretty funny to say the least. It was about mars... I am sure some Bush Loving phreak deleted it! Sigh.... So don't get too excited about it since you could be next!

 
One of the main reasons I stay come back to this forum so much is that it's dedicated to certain things (I go to topics other than SETI) and it doesn't have the "chat room" atmosphere.
Besides, BBR's forums would get me in trouble at work. The color schemes are a dead giveaway for not productivly working. 🙂

Not to mention all of the animated, flashing, or rotating icons with the weird font sizes and types... 😉
 
I'll second the comment about too much flash at the BBR forums. I'm sure you can customize to make them more readable, but their default color schemes and text colors are not pleasant to me. Too much flash. Makes it harder to read, and that's what forums are for, aren't they?

Maybe I'm just boring, but I'm not BBoRing.
