HI, I keep trying to make a server so that my friends and I can play in, but when my friends update their server list, my server doesn't show up, is there a waiting period that I have to wait for the ISP to cache my server???? I am behind an SMC barricade and my ISP is Charter here in SoCal.

Thanks

not too familiar with the smc barricade, but have you tried forwarding port 27015?

not sure how cs works, but for quake...servers send a heartbeat to the master server. quake clients download the current server list from the master server. maybe your heartbeat isn't reaching the cs master serveR?

yup, even tried the DMZ function, but no go

if that's the case, it doesnt sound like dmz on the smc is doing it's job. are you running any firewall software along with the smc barracade?

you probably already forwarded these, but i was looking on practicallynetworked.com's ports list for special apps, and it had these listed for half-life:

IN UDP 6003
IN UDP 7002
IN UDP 27010
IN UDP 27015
IN UDP 27025

have you updated to the latest firmware?

here's a link someone posted in the counter-strike forums to host hl game

thanks dakata, for the link, it works now. I put my WON IP in the server.cfg file and it worked like a charm.
