Kinda OT: Black hole in the Milky Way?

I've heard about this theory before ,scarey, sounds like they are certain now!:Q
I'll read it another day when I have time

Thanks for the link Robor 🙂

LOL! 😀

I was thinking, OK, so who stuck their finger in the Milky Way? :Q

Must be because I had to take a late lunch and I was hungry. 😉

Thanks Robor, interesting. 🙂

I thought that there was a giant star in the centre of the universe just like on The Next Generation! :disgust:

😛

I think they did that in one of the original start trek movies. Probably one of the dumb ones that made no sence. 😛

Also it would have to be a black hole. What else would have the gravity to pull all the stuff that is in the galaxy.

And they think that all the galaxy's are going around a super massive blackhole. :Q

Hey, maybe Soundgarden was right! A blackhole sun 😀 BTW astrophysics is certainly not my area of expertise but though they have sufficient mathamatical and observational evidence to call it a working theory, it doesn't preclude alternative explainations IMHO

Q threw them into the Delta quadrent when they frist met the Borg. That's gotta be bordering the edge of the galaxy.
The Traveler took them over 100,000,000 light years from where they started. Wouldn't that be outside our galaxy?

You're right, it does make sense that there's something causing the "whirlpool" in spiral galaxies. What facinates me is the massive amount of matter and space they're talking about in that article. Makes me think...

Duh, I like pudding! 😱 😕 😉

I could eat more pudding than any blackhole!😀
(though my Diabetes wouldn't like that!)

Bgod
Our galaxy is 100,000 light years across ,so yes the traveller through them far out!🙂 ,pitty they didnt explore whilst they were there🙁

Lol I really thought you were talking about that candybar. "Kinda OT: Black hole in the Milky Way?" I thought, man, "kinda", doesnt even begin to discribe how OT this topic is. (Thought now that I know what you meant it isnt THAT OT). Candy having a black hole in it isstrange...Lol.

I've always been interested in that sort of thing like black holes. Especially the things like event horizons (the way kids see black holes 😛).. 🙂

Robor,

Thanks for the link.

I had never considered anything other than a super massive black hole at the center of all spiral galaxies.
I think we should also have many smaller black holes throughout the milkyway.

Man that was a cool read! They seem to be saying the same thing over and over these days those... Black holes are here there and everywhere!

Any of you guys seen the TV advertisements for Mars Bars? Where they're talking about "Earth Bars"? I've heard too many people asking where you can actually pick up an "Earth Bar" ... geez...
