Ok, I've taken up running once again, in the beginning I ran with some crappy shorts, not meant to be running shorts. Well, while running the inner seam (you know where it all meets in a ball of fabric) rubbed against the inner part of my thighs. Looking at the lesion it looked like small blood pockets underneathe the skin. The first time this happened I stopped running and used some body lotion (vaseline intensive care). That cleared it up lickety split. The second time however I did not stop running, and it didn't get any better or worse. I expected it to clear up like it did the first time, but it did not. I have been using a different body lotion - Nivea something or other. Now after a week of not running it actually looked worse than it did a week ago. The small bumps got larger, and instead of being a peppering of dark red it is now a blotch of paler read. It has also started to itch like mad!

any ideas guys?

I really want to get back to running asap.

thx, shadow

wear army shorts, really oversized, with the crotch down to your knees
then you get no more irritation!

its a b|tch to jump over sh|t tho..

Is it possible that a bug may have bitten you? If it doesn't clear up soon, you may want to have it looked at.

I hear full strength chlorine bleach works wonders in the genital area.

Well, running with crappy shorts without stopping doesn't give my kids heat rash, it gives them diaper rash. Hahaha

Seriously, sounds like you broke some blood vessels under the skin (gave yourself a good crotch "hickey" haha). Is the skin broken, open or oozing?

Oh, forgot to mention, Gold Bond Powder might help if there are no signs of infection.

And buy some new shorts! :D

holding the picks back what? you sure you don't want to see it? I've got a webcam and everything.....

it's not open - the skin is not broken, and I don't think it's a bug bite. Chlorine sounds like something I would do to my toilet, not my crotch, thx.

Just a lil followup - it turns out it was the freaking lotion I was using. Nivea body lotion, I use it on my face after I shave, and have been doing so for a while now: ~2 months. Today I apply it and my face began to itch like mosquito bitten ivy covered peeling sunburn! I also seem to be developing some very faint and minute bumps all over my face. Allergic reaction is what it appears to be to me.

grrr... damn stuff!!!

shadow, if it doesn't turn out to be your lotion, it also could be a yeast infection (yes, guys get them too). You can clear it up with some OTC Lotrimin cream.

Darn! I was hoping you would say something like "hey yeah, now that you mentioned it, my crotch does smell really bad..."

And then I would have replied, "haha -- I made you admit that you have a smelly crotch".
