Kinda dumb, but does anyone use the targus deluxe notebook backpack for school?

I just got my Inspiron 600m, and I love it. Even got my new sanyo 8100 to let me use wireless internet on it anywhere in town. Anyways, I need a case for it, and bought the Targus deluxe sport notebook backpack. The laptop is a little small for it, it's made for a 15", but i think it will be ok. I am mainly concerned with not beign able to fit many books into it. Anyone here actually use this thing. I'm considering returning this and buying a regular notebook case, but still can't decide. Plus it's 2am and I can't sleep, so someone give me an opinion.
 
Normally, I wouldn't let people know I have a laptop in my backpack. Showing off a laptop, it is like asking people to steal from me.
