Flip all your breakers, put a lock on the box, and leave for the day.

You've kind of lost already if you're seeking compensation for something that's been happening for two weeks and you didn't complain about it previously.

Well, go read your electrical meter. read again when they are done. subtract t2 - t1 = kilowwatts used for that time period (say 2 days). After they are gone, read meter again before and after the same time period. subtract KW1- KW2 /days will estimate the amount of juice they used while on site. Now look at your last power bill to get price per KWatt.

saws draw a many more amps on start up. I suspect they aren't really using that much juice. I can see why you are annoyed though. At least you are getting a new porch and your landlord is concerned about maintaining his property.

if they are just running power tools they arent using that much juice. I bet you will hardly see any difference in your bill.

Those saws are high amp, but they're only on intermittently. I suspect you're only talking a very few dollars for that 2 week period. Really not enough to fuss about. Compare your KWH usage this month to the same period last year.
