Kimber firearms

I don't personally own one, but I have shot one of their .45's and it was one of the nicest shooting guns I've shot in a while. If I had the cash, I would have ponied up for one. I'd say well worth the cost.

I don't own one but shot several of them. They have beautiful triggers and are very accurate, but they tend to jam a lot. You'd think that making a classic pistol with closer tolerances than the original design would make it more reliable, but in the 1911's case it doesn't.

I'd love to have one of their Custom Target models for the range, but not so good for protection.

i own a kimber team match II with about 10,000 rounds. the only jams that i experienced was cause by me by not seating the magazine all the way causing the slide not go into full battery. I tend to do this while im running and gunning thru IPSC and steel competition matches. If you have a chance of owning a kimber they are fine guns...if you need advice on any 1911's let me know! i own 4 of them and different brands too.

I own a Classic custom base model Pic I love it best 1911 style I ever owned. I have fired their Target models and custom carry models all excellent pistols.

Main thing is what are you going to do with it? I have one and a few other .45's that aren't in 1911 format. Are you getting a carry gun, plinker, want to go to matches? The thing you will find out about kimber is there are like a million different models and they don't always track year to year for same name. Give us a little more info what you want to do with it.

My ex-roommate had one. One of the best guns I've ever fired. Not exactly what I want, but I'm just picky. I consider them well worth the cost.

In my (very) limited experience I prefer the S&W 1911. Just feels a bit better in my hand.

Personally, I think Kimber rests on its laurels a bit too much, but I certainly wouldnt say no to owning one!
