So I just rented this game and I gotta say the aiming is all off. I'm used to COD aiming, but there is an acceleration in this game. If I move it a little bit, it doesn't move at all. I have to wait a few seconds, then it moves, then I stop, then it keeps moving for a 1/4 second still. Ugh!

The graphics are great, and i like the recoil, but the fact that it's such a pain to aim, makes me want to return it right away. Do you get used to it?

Man, I can't believe they messed up what could've been a great game by introducing a horribly flawed core mechanic.

That's because if the aiming were any faster, the framerate would go ballistics! :awe:

It's really weird going from CoD to Killzone 2. However, I found it easy to adjust to.

its suppose to be like that. it wants to have a weighted feel. not a reflex game.

I was thinking about picking up this game from wally world for 20. I was disappointed with battlefield and i don't want to blow 20 on a beautiful game that plays like crap.
Any thoughts would be helpful

Either you'll hate the controls or you won't but no one can really predict how you'll feel about them.

Personally I played through the game just fine (enjoyed it, mostly) and still don't really understand all the fuss about the controls. Maybe I should go back and see if I still feel the same way. The single player campaign does have a somewhat awkward cover system, though, but that isn't present in multiplayer.

I'm not a big multiplayer guy but I enjoyed KZ2's MP as well for the relatively short period of time I spent with it. It's unique in that you end up playing several different game types in one match. So you'll do a round of team deathmatch, then a round of capture the flag, etc. Of course there are a variety of servers with custom setups as well. You earn points just like MW2 and BC2 and you unlock other class types and weapons as you progress. You actually have to get fairly deep to unlock all of the different classes.

Just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents. I hate this game so much.

No surprise coming from the biggest PS3 troll on the board I've seen so far.

The game is a masterpiece. It handles very well, the aiming feels weighted, and it's not some POS CS or CoD where you can rotate around light as a feather like a little fairy to get kills. You have to actually know what you are doing, which is hard for some CoD noobs, and why they added that precision thing for the people bitching.

i also find it funny that people are claiming the controls were perfect, yet Guerilla decided to patch the game to give it 'better' controls and made it the default setting...

but yea, the controls were perfect before that, PERFECTO

Honestly, I just disagree. They made difficult, the most important aspect of any fps: the actual aiming. And it's not just difficult because people have played COD, it's difficult because they wanted it to have "weight". I didn't play Killzone 2 for a real world simulator. It's not that, and it should recognize that. Also, that's not how guns move in the real world either. There's a lot more to aiming than just weight. It's not realistic, and the fact that the devs pretended so is bullshit.

No, people don't move as fast as they do in COD, but most certainly they do not move their sights like they do in Killzone 2. There is no deadspot in real life. If I apply a force to move my weapon, it moves. IT MOVES! Yeah, they removed it with high precision, great, but it's simply not true that a deadspot exists. I understand the acceleration, but it makes for a less fun game. When aiming is a chore, it's no fun. I'm not going to spend 10 hours learning how to aim, when that's the length of the campaign itself.

It's a horrible design decision, and the people who came up with it should never get to suggest these ideas again. The simple fact is that it made the game a lot less fun, for people who otherwise would've liked it. And it really appealed to who? The large majority of people who bought it and complained? I doubt it. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but this "weight" is bullshit and makes the game worse for just about everyone.

High precision helped, but my intial frustration with aiming made me give it up 6 hours in. I do have to say though, that I really did enjoy playing multiplayer. Lots of different game modes, as well as features. Too bad there's like no one playing and I bet the aiming is a big reason why.

If you wanted to create a good alternative to COD, that people on PS3 could play, this is not it. Close, but they messed up the most important part of the game. Stuff like this is exactly why xbox has a larger multiplayer environment. These ps3 exclusives cater to niche stuff like "weight" instead of targeting a larger audience.

Its "bullshit" that they pretended? So because they can't make a 100% accurate simulation, they should abandon all attempts at realism? Every game should handle like Unreal Tournament to make it easier?

Don't get me wrong, I love Unreal Tournament, but the amount of ire you seem to have here is comical.

the way i see it, if they are gonna go for realism, then go for realism. don't make EVERYTHING in the game fantasy OTHER than the weighted controls.

i agree with the previous poster, it was just piss poor design, and again, the fact that they created a new control mode and made it the default, shows that enough people did not enjoy it and Guerilla probably realized they screwed up with the controls.

i mean it's not like they had a track record of AAA titles or anything. KZ2 was another example of mediocrity.

The rest of the game is hardly mediocrity, that's just ridiculous. And besides, how DARE they try something new? They should have just made another Halo or CoD clone!

They tried something new, some people didn't like it. Live and learn. Better than just making another "me too" game.

If you need to spend 10 hours learning how to aim, then you should probably go play Hello Kitty or something.

The weight made the game better, and it's an awesome system that should be put in all games. I love hearing people like you bitch about it, because it just makes me realize how much more skill it takes to use then some featherweight shooter like CoD. I haven't played in months, and I'm still ranked 10813 out of 2035613. The game is awesome, and it was awesome day one and better than now with all those patches to get people to stop bitching.

I'm a troll? I like my PS3 and play it more than my 360. Only thing I play on my 360 are exclusives and online games. I think the Sony exclusive games have been vastly superior to the 360 exclusives except that I think KZ2 sucks and Little Big Planet is overhyped.

Wow I'm a huge troll....
