Just wanted to know what other people thought of it being a free Killing Floor weekend on steam, I have had it since it came out but the new maps and guns have made for a much more intense ans satisfying experience. Before once you got around 2000 "Dosh" you could afford everything worth buying, but now theres a reason for large amounts of money. The only thing I have seen wrong with the new update is that it sometimes takes me more than one try to join a server. Anyone else encounter this? Otherwise just general opinions on the entertainment value of the game.
 
Man, I played it on the free weekend and just got raped by the flesh pound. It's alright on beginner, in fact it's way too easy on beginner, but it's impossible it seems like on normal to kill the flesh pound. Of course, only after my team got wiped 3 times by a single flesh pound on 3 consecutive maps did I quit and look up how to kill it. The thing is, we all had like 2000 pounds or so at the time, and so must of us had lots of heavy guns. Whether ot not it was raged my grenade launcher, which I fired like 6 times, someone else's LAW, and a couple frag grenades should really take it down, but no. 6 people just unloading as quickly as we could, could not do it. 🙁.
 
It seems more fun then L4D cus it has more types of zombies and more weapons which is obviously better. It lacks a lot of polish so it doesn't seem it's worth the price but it sure was fun on the free weekend.
 
wish i would've known this was a free weekend, i would've tried it.

i guess i should just bite the bullet and buy it. 20 bucks is pretty reasonable if i can enjoy for at least a little while.

It's only $15 this weekend. I tried it for free, liked it enough to spend $15. Lots of replay value, and goals to strive for (leveling up.)
 
Bought this and borderlands. I quite enjoyed it, worth the $15. Have to figure out how to not die from flesh pounds. 🙁
 
thanks for the tip, i'm gonna grab it for 15 before it goes back up. (5 bucks is 5 bucks, dammit)
 
played on a 32 man server. Was pretty fun. With that many people it takes like an hour and a half to beat a level, but at the same time it's not incredibly tense which I like. It's why I hate playing single player games, though I made an exception for fallout 3. 32 man server flesh pounds just take absolute aaaaaages.
 
Love the new update. The new interface is great and the 3 maps ooze quality.

Fleshpounds: Keep him yellow, ie dont shoot him until the rest of your squad can focus its firepower on him first. Once he is shot he will turn red and come for the person that upset him first. He will go down as long as you don't shoot him with pistols.

He can be shot w/out going off as well. He can also be kited until he calms back down. You have a lot of options against a fleshpounder.

I just go up to the mfer and melee him w/ a katana. Medium difficulty of course 😉
 
i like what they've done with KF..i bought it earlier, dont remember when. always felt liek there should be more guns. def. much better now. The music is a nice touch. kinda sets the mood right heh
 
well, i've tried two different payment methods on two different days, and steam refuses to sell me the game. fucking piece of shit.

It's based on a UT2004 mod, so yeah.

I found it somewhat fun for the free wknd, but i'm not buying it.

The funny thing for me is that I didn't even notice the shitty graphics, thought it looked old, but it didn't affect my fun. In fact, the best map was a player made one that looked like shit, but played out really well.
