Killer Apps for Pocket PC

I just got a pocket PC from the jobto play around with. No real internet connectivity except what I can hotsync over. Anything this is useful for besides PIM and solitair?

avantgo is good for reading the onion, anandtech, etc on the go

beta player

and

pocket tv

for watching videos....(a big memory card helps)

otherwise, yeah, my most used program is email (reading mostly), calendar, and so on....

If you travel a lot, pick of Microsoft Streets and Trips (for the US) or Autoroute (for Europe), which includes a PPC map program as well. Then you can export maps to the PPC. It's really the only thing I use my PPC for anymore...I always have a complete, street level map of everywhere I travel. It includes hotels, restaurants, sights, etc. Extremely hand, and much smaller and more accurate than a folded map, as you can search for the address.

Oh....I also hav PocketNES, which is a pretty good NES emulator, and runs very smoothly!

dont forget gameboy and snes emulators,
I use freeware called "pocketnes" and then search for roms in the internet. I usually play classic games like : galaga, tennis, space invaders mostly snes games (free)

I havent found a free gameboy advance emulator yet..
I also use it as a mp3 player

there is also a version of age of empires that can run on a pocket pc

Thanks for all the great input. I actually have a copy of the ms streets. I was afraid it would be lame but I guess I'll be installing it now. I had also spotted avant go so thanks for the review. As for the game emulators I've had trouble finding roms for my palm but maybe they are more plentiful for the PPC. Anyways thanks all.

I am also interested in cool PPC software...just bought one for the wife and I have no idea as to what cool stuff to put on it for her.... is ther a way to update the version of IE that comes on it??? mine says its incompatible with most sites
