Killed Chip?

I have a L64xA E6400 C2D.
When I first got it, I ran it at 3.2GHz for a month or so, rock stable, 1.34v.
I used to have it OC'ed to 3.6GHz 1.5v for a long while on a TR Ultra120 during the winter. The temps never went above 56C load but that I was very reckless with the voltages.
When it started to get warmer, my system became VERY unstable, so I backed it down back to 3.2GHz. It seems stable, running Orthos for hours, but then I opened an old game (C&C Tiberian Sun) and it crashed every time. Temps idled around 40C and never went above 54C for Orthos load.
Now I have to run it @ 2.66GHz (333*8) to be stable. What happened? Did I kill my chip?
Just wondering. It doesn't matter b/c I have a new Q6600 coming.

Im telling you, Its the board!!

I just burn out my board, for some wierd reason the vdroop isnt stable anymore. I used to only have a vdroop of about .03, now i get a funky vdroop from time to time of .2-.3

When it droops that low, the whole computer crashes even in BIOS.

Just RMA the board b4 your vdroop gets even worse. Its still usable at near stock settings, so your downtime shouldnt be as bad as mine. For me, I couldnt get it stable at stock settings even in BIOS.

And your running the same board as me, except you have a AR. You want the A1 anyhow, as they are better OCers for quad's.

yeah. I'll just do the "Replace my 680i for Quad" so they ship first and I have only a few hours down-time on my system.

I noticed similar stuff from my old 3700+. Over time the OC's had to be decreased for stability. At one time it was 2.8ghz NP, but before I offloaded it it was down to 2.68 or so. Kind of frustrating.
