Killed a dog with car **UPDATE with insurance estimate

Driving for thanksgiving and i hit a big yellow lab doing about 70. Dog was dead, Bumper (Ford Explorer) was missing parts, fog light gone, horn and cruise stopped working, side trim out of whack. Luckily my son was oblivious to the whole thing even though he was in the back seat.


Felt bad for the dog, and anger at the owners for letting the dog run out. I did not go back for the tags, but called the highway patrol. Car behind me pulled over too and confirmed that the dog was dead, though I had little doubt about that.




Will update with repair estimate.

***Claims guy estimated at $1300.***
 
I hit a badger I believe on Rt 4 coming back home.

That thing was huge. Good thing i was no my CRV. All I heard was a 2 Thumps.
