hello. i have a computer that i wanted to wipe clean and reinstall windows 7. after i ran killdisk and it completed, i then put in the windows 7 cd. the computer did not load up and an error came up that says "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" when i put killdisk back in it says that my drives are allocated so i figure that the computer is not detecting my drives? can anyone please help me? thank you in advance!

Set it to boot from the CD/DVD Drive in the BIOS and watch for the prompt " press any key to boot from CD " and press any key on the keyboard when you see this.

what key do i have to push to open up the BIOS? because when i start the computer it doesnt even give me a chance to push a key before it goes to a black screen that says the error: "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

Do you have a motherboard manual? What kind of PC is it?

Try these

Del key

F10 key

F2 key

Esc key

Lite On, WDC, Floppy(!), in that order.
