The fan on my 4200 is dying... and very loud. Could i just unplug it, and install a pci blower right below it and still be ok?
I have to totally disagree. The 8rda+ stock NB (northbridge) cooling sucks. Only like 30% of the NB is touching the heatsink (not really touching even cause they used some thick ass frag tape) and it's only passive cooling when it really should be active. The Vantec iceburg chipset cooler fits nicely. I would also use passive cooling on the SB. You can reuse the NB heatsink, but you have to cut it a bit to make it clear some pieces on the board.Originally posted by: clicknext
Chances are it's not worth it to improve the cooling on a motherboard chipset. They usually have plenty of cooling already.
My Vdimm is 2.77 volts.Originally posted by: Buickbeast
Off topic here but, syberscott what voltage are you running on the hyper x, I got the same stuff and can't get above 170 with 2t, and totally unstable at 180 3t.
I want to run 200 sync w/ asus a7n8x and 2400.
Thanks in advance
