If you hold the entire human race to the standard of its worst members it is always going to really, really suck. Although it gets much worse than what this guy did...

BTW, nobody spent money to play it. It didn't pass greenlight, although I have no idea if the guy was going to charge for it in the first place (I doubt it, if people could freely download it outside Steam)

How did he prove that point? There's no real measurement of how many people are whining, the intensity of their whining, what percentage of them are gay people, or how the kind of reaction a game calling for the murder and prejudicial ridicule of some other group of people would be received. If the game was "Kill the Mayo-Ass Crackers" and filled with similar slurs and stereotypes I'm sure a bunch of people including white people would be calling him an asshole just the same.

The only thing this proves is that Steam wouldn't allow this game to stay on greenlight (big surprise given it breaks their TOS) and that at least some number of people are willing to call him an asshole over this. And that it was shocking enough to get the attention of some gaming "journalists", but that goes for just about anything these days. While he could make the point that he was just trolling people for attention, I doubt the imagery he called upon in this game didn't come from a genuinely bigoted place.

He gave people something to be legitimately angry about, instead of people flying into a rage when they get the slightest whiff of something they don't like.

Their point is they think they're gaining moral high ground by showing that being ignorant bigoted assholes have prejudice against them. To them, showing that people calling him a hatemonger can resort to hateful words is proof that they're not bigots. Which needless to say is dumb and illogical, but that's to be expected from dumb people trying to push ideology.

It's like the idiots saying how people calling someone a bigoted asshole should STFU is "censoring" them and somehow impinging on their freedom of speech, without realizing those people are just exercising their own freedom of speech.

This ties into their indoctrination into persecution. Religions have some weird persecution complex that I think is a big part of why they're popular as people in general like to feel that way.
