Question Kill switch?

I was got at a couple of these.

They work great. But I need a few more. Seems like a lot for for just a simple thing though. 13 dollars for a simple switch. I am mot good with soldering or I would make my own. Or does anybody sell a ethernet switch with individual buttons for shutting off just the ports not in use like after I am done using my mac mini. I have 3 velop ax4200. I can't go over 40 per node. I have unplugeed 2 of them as they might be crashing my network. I can unplug the stuff not in use like tvs which stay connected even when off. But a simple toggle switch would be best. Just wish they were cheaper.

Almost all managed switches can do this functionality. You either disable the port or you can set it to a VLAN that is not part of your production network(s) and does not have routing capabilities to get out of that VLAN.

This all happens electronically over the switch's management interface (some have a WebUI, most have command line).

Managed switches are usually expensive. I just thought a physical switch is better. No worry about hacking or if I accidently turned on the port again.

I upgraded my unmanaged switched to 3 of these.

1 is a 5 port version. And the other 2 exactly like the link. Same brand and model just one 5 port version instead of 8.

Not sure if they have that feature though.

On those switches, it looks like all you have to do is go to the "System > Port Configuration > Port Settings" to disable the port (page 16-17 in your manual).

Thanks, looks like that is only from the web interface and not the mobile app.
