Yet another reason I'm glad I don't live in the south. The spiders here look scary, but at least they can't actually harm me.

What part of the south are you talking about? I live in the south and I have never seen anything bad.
Well, on the other hand, there are some pretty huge roaches around my house. But they are so friendly! They don't usually come inside so they just hang out by the back door. They're always sitting there chilling, not disturbing nobody.

maybe i'm just a weird one, but spiders have never scared me. then again i'm not generally afraid of things I'm more than a million times bigger than and only need to exert the most minor of energies to eliminate from existence.

The problem is most of these are also poisonous and if they bite you, you have like 30 seconds to live. I'll stick to the north where none of our spiders are poisonous, and don't grow the size of a cat.

Bugs have never bothered me, only thing about spiders that freaks me is spider webs. I have this weird fear of spider webs and will scream like a little girl if I run into one. I know they are harmless, I'm not even worried about what is inside it, it's the web itself. It's a really weird fear that I've had since I was a little kid. The actual spiders I will usually kill with my bare hands if I'm within proximity.

Backswimmers. If you've ever encountered one of these and their stings/bites, then you know why it needs to be killed with fire. Can ruin anyone's fun pool day, they hurt like hell.
