Kill Bill Vol. 1 Question

ndee

Lifer
Please, no spoilers about Kill Bill 2 but here are my questions:

That black woman in the beginning was the second on the list, right? Who was the first one on the list? Did they ever show that person in the first movie?

Thanks in advance.

ah ok, that's what I thought. But after she killed Lucy Liu, didn't she strike out the 3rd name? Or was that the girl who was "sent to" Bill?

The first name on the list here is O-Ren Ishii.

The whole 2nd half of the Volume 1 is about O-Ren Ishii. (Lucy Liu)

ah ok, now I get it. But didn't she strike out the 3rd name at the end of the movie? weird.

ah I see. So Tarantino thinks it's cool to kill the 2nd person first and than make the long story about the first character? Wow.

Sometimes it's hard to kill all your enemies in any particular order 😛

I thought the movie itself was "out of order" and that she did kill Lucy first and then Vivica second.

ok, now I get it. But what is so "great" about this movie? I still don't get it. Yeah, she cuts of heads and arms, etc. but yeah, I think I just don't like Tarantino movies.

Film-wise it made sense. Vernita Green had very little backstory that needed to be covered, and opening with that scene grabs the viewer into the movie. After that, jumping into the backstory re: the Bride and O-Ren is a lot easier, cause the viewer is actively paying attention. Vernita's death didn't need the backstory that O-Ren's did. Imagine opening with O-ren - all that backstory would be boring (IMO compared to how it is now.)
Also, it's a Tarentino trademark to have his movies out of order (a la Pulp Fiction)

Tarantino (SC GRAD by the way 😉 is just an awesome director, his movies are refreshing and not necessarily original, but original in the sense that he borrows unique aspects of standout films in the past 🙂

><GG)

The first volume was like a nameless revenge story... lots of action, whereas the second volume was more personal. /me tries not to spoil it for ndee

I just saw Volume 1 yesterday, and it was crystal clear for me 😛

Although I was disturbed by the *SPOILER* 75 dollars per fsck scene..

if you look... before vivica's character is killed... o'ren's name is already marked off the list as she is getting out of the pu55y wagon... so the movie was out of order and lucy was dead before vivica

Yeah that's what I thought but my friends were convinced that the movie was in order so I was a little bit unsure 🙂

Yup. Especially when your first enemy is in Japan and your second one is in the States. Why waste time right?

Speaking of Kill Bill. They should make another sequel where the black woman's daughter grows up and seek revenge on KIddo

before she talked to Sophie, she only knew where O-Ren was (and only because she was so high-profile). Vernita changed her name, got married, and was living in the burbs; Budd was out in the middle of nowhere; and Elle was probably with Bill. Sophie was the one who told The Bride where the other ones were hiding out.

I just watched it, I love this movie. I can't figure out how they can have a SWORD in the plane, not just her, everyone it seems.

To the asshat who accused me to copying dvd movies, they can suck my friend's hairy ass. I watch all my netflix movies and send them out the next day because I'm cheap.
