Am I the only one that thought Kill bill was just an extension of the Charlies angles series?
They seem so similar to me.
Just watched the trailer, looked OK, althought I still cant stand Lucy Liu...

The main difference is that Kill Bill will be awesome while the Charlie's Angels series sucks.

It's not anything like Charlie's Angels.

I'm a big fan of some of the stuff that Tarantino has done, but this kill bill thing sounds kind of weird. I disagree with some of the casting... Uma Thurman as a samurai broad?? Lucy Liu??? *sigh*

Hey, Tarantino made Travolta cool again for a while so anything is possible...

I personally feel this will be a "sleeper" hit because the premise for the movie is awesome IMO, but the "teaser" trailers don't intrigue the average movie audience :)

Yeah from this point forward any movie with 3 women (actually 4 in kill bill, but yeah we know you can't count) will be Charlie's Angels clones.

OK, so from what I gather from IMDB, it's basically one long movie that's being released in two parts in the theater? Bah. I'm not a huge fan of Tarantino, I might see this one if the response is good here.

This made me laugh (from the IMDB message boards for Kill Bill: Volume 2):
has anyone heard how they will release the movie on dvd i mean supposibly i suspect that they will release kill bill 1 on dvd probally after kill bill volume 2 comes out i mean i dont think that they will release them together just becasue miramax are a bunch of a holes.
Any one else hear how they release it i mean like they do a special edition with both parts on 1 dvd or will they wait a while for that.

I read the script a while back. I enjoyed the story but seeing some of the longer trailers makes me think that the way QT makes movies may annoy me in this one.

I thought Lucy Liu was the samurai thing (which is not possible since only men can be samurai in japanese culture, just because you play with swords dont make you a samurai).

The premise is a hell of a lot of dismemberment/blood/killing etc (ie, a Tarantino film)

Charlies Angles (never seen it), I'm guessing didn't have all that much death.

Many posting probably know the whole deal on the movie.

The script is still online and easily found.

Samurai without Lords are Ronin....I am sure a woman could be Ronin if she wanted.

Hattori Hanzo was a Ninja not Samurai....the sword in the movie is a Katana.....it is a movie nonetheless.

Uma is the main sword wielder.

The trailers don't (probably) do the movie justice since already at least 1 scene has been deleted due to too much gore for an R rating.

Miramax, not QT wanted it to be two movies. He wanted one as a few movies recently came out at the 2.5-3hour mark. Rather than edit severely he elected to do two movies.

The DVD release is almost always individual movies and about 6 months after the release of the final segment a 'boxed set'...then when sales die off a director's cut.

Now they even do Platinum, Gold, Special Director's cuts with more footage.....

And to all those idiots who say Star Wars, LOTR, Matrix, Star Trek....epics are the worst movies ever....go ahead keep telling yourself that to validate you sorry lives. I don't like ST movies but I know many are and that a blockbuster isn't an easy mark to hit.
