I am finally building a killer gaming rig. This is what I have or am gettin: ASUS A7N8X Deluxe 2.0, Barton Athlon XP 2500+ (gonna overclock this beast to 3200+ speeds) and a Radeon 9800 Pro. But I am not sure about the ram. I was looking at Geil 3200 and that looked pretty reasonable. But I can get Kingston HyperX PC3500 (434mhz) 512MB DDR Ram for a good price. Is just one stick gonna work well (while overclocking) and while not? I read somewhere that with the nForce based mobos that Dual channel wis way better than just having one stick. Is this true? why or why not? Please give me some recomendations. Thank you!

Dual Channel can provide higher memory bandwidth in a system, which = good! =)

Example > Here <

personally id recomend getting 2x256 or 2x512mb (if you can afford it) of the pc3500 hyperx. can probably get higher oc's with it using tighter timings :)

I'm using 2 x 256MB HyperX pc3500 in my NF7-S rev. 2 (the same chipset as on your rev. 2 Asus). It works very well. I'm running it at 220MHz dual channel at Cas 2-2-3-7. These are the timings that give me the best performance.

Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to get the 1 stick of 512, and when I have the cash buy another stick for a total of 1 gig ram. Hopefully my system will be pretty badass.

waiting on getting a raptor hear way to many problems but i wana run 2x512 of the hyperx 3500 if it wouldnt stop the oc capabilities
