I'm in this neighbourhood, used to play hockey there when I was a kid. Same thing lol. Hockey parents are nuts, I heard this never happens at baseball or soccer games.

Boy taken to hospital after suspected assault at arena

Police were interviewing players, possibly a referee and parents to determine what had actually taken place. The suspected assault did not occur on the ice, police said.
Southdale management or staff could not be immediately reached for comment. The Free Press has also requested comment from board president Todd Thornton.

it has but not nearly as much

BB fans get into it with each other a lot actually, beer is most always involved

also looking at that vid its hard to tell if the ref ment to slam that kid or just went to seperate the fight and fell over

In the comments of the newspaper article (that I forgot to include) they said the same referee was throwing around kids the day before as well so they were watching him.

I think one of those teams is from an indian reserve so I don't know if it's racism or what but those reserve folks play dirty. I've know that since I was a kid.

I've spent a lot of time around small town arenas shooting Junior A games for cable access. If you ever wanted to see why Don Cherry is still relevant, go to a kids' hockey game.

Worse that hockey though is lacrosse. I actually saw a parent try to climb into the penalty box at a Junior B game to attack a player who hit his son. Then there's the Native parents, who take the game very, very seriously. It's not unheard of to have outright brawls in the stands when they're playing a white team. I'm glad we don't cover those games any more.

That's what it looked like to me, though if what OP says it true, I guess a weekend's games worth of context matters.

I've definitely seen soccer games get out of hand due to unruly asshole parents.

Had to eject a couple parents myself way back when I reffed. While I couldn't actually force a parent to leave, I could threaten the offending parent's team's coach that I'd call the game and they'd forfeit the match if they didn't convince the asshole to wait in the parking lot.

The kid that supposedly got body slammed tried to start up a fight with the blue player as he was skating away.
