Only 44 years ago one of the most popular presidents in US history was assassinated. His and his family's iconic image rivaled that of movie and rock stars. Today, he'd never have been elected, as his now notorious sex life would be on display as if it were in a museum, picked apart by the media and his political opposition. This was only 44 years ago. See where this is headed?

So in today's world, people are more scrutinized, more closely watched, put under increased pressure. More pressure on our children will place them under more stress, leading to more stress-related problems. As expectations rise, people who can no longer make the cut will lose what they wish to become.

Our leaders are no longer liked by the populace, instead of voting for the 'good guy', we vote for the one that is less evil. We no longer care about the person, just what they have and have not done in their life, what they can say about their opposition, and their carefully worded dodging of questions.

And also, there is nothing wrong with being a man-whore. :laugh:

Maybe, but I've got to go with "talking about it is better than not doing so". There are a lot of fvcked up things out there. Might as well be aware of them. The first time I watched Saving Private Ryan, I was a freshman in HS. After I read the endorsements from veterans who had actually been there, and knew it was as close to real as I would hopefully get, turned out to be a big eye-opener for me then.

Some people thrive under pressure. Indeed, our ability to adapt to adverse situations is often the only variable, as we can't control the sh!t hitting the fan... only what we do and how we feel after the fact. If we're breeding a more stress-resistant population, how is that a bad thing?

IMHO people today face fewer "adverse situations" than in the past. But they're a lot noisier about it. "Heavens! I had to wait ten minutes in line at the DMV! I'd better get the media to do a special about how horrible that is!"

We're not a stress-resistant population, we're a lazy, coddled, yet outspoken population.
