Wow.... just wow. I've noticed most of the people here are saying lock up the parents, however...
Both of the boys were on probation in juvenile court when the tape was found last week. One was sentenced in December for burglary and criminal mischief. The other boy had been on probation for burglary and assault since August.

To me this one is really hard to call without more facts. Sometimes model parents produce kids that are totally screwed up. They can try to influence their children as much as possible but in the end cannot control the child's thoughts and actions.

Why do people always ask 'what's wrong with the world today?'

As if attrocities just started happening in the history of the world.

Among the key provisions of the law are a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison and lifetime electronic monitoring of adults convicted of lewd or lascivious acts against a victim less than twelve years of age. In Florida, sexual battery or rape of a child less than twelve years of age is a capital felony, punishable only by death or life imprisonment with no chance of parole.

they should be locked up for at least 25 years, although since they are so young, a life sentence would be better

While the kid is responsible for his actions and should be severely punished usually kids like that have been the victims of sexual abuse themselves. Sometimes without the parent even knowing. So while this is likely a case of bad parenting too, you can't really say that for sure as you don't know. Otherwise you're just making generalizations.

They want to believe that it was once a utopian society?

Even if this is a special case, there are probably 50 others for every 1 case like this where the parents can be blamed, which is why AT'ers always mention it. A lot of the issues I see are related to how parents raised their kids, or the lack of raising them. Many will be fine, it's the ones who don't have a moral base that can't distinguish between right and wrong.
