Seems Chicago will be a forbidden zone very soon.

Moved from OT.

LOCK EM UP.

(Police/ FBI should have no problems pulling a warrant for searching the phone GPS/tower records of every teen within 200 ft. of that recorded incident, and then bringing them all in for questioning / polygraph.)

Edit: I see mandatory curfews for minors in that region soon.

Locking up hundreds of teenagers is just not going to happen for quite a few reasons!

I'm not sure I agree with calls of racism though. I'm pretty sure that sort of behaviour would be reported the same way regardless of race or location.

I'm talking about the teens directly involved and or observing and therefore a passive accomplice to the assualt on that woman that was in the recording in the linked tweet. Did you watch it? And older woman get brutally beaten by a gang of teens for no reason and left for dead.

@WelshBloke We have agencies like the FBI that do have the resources to track those teens down, and they should be locked up and sent to criminal trial.

One way to look at it, if this was a protest against government, can guarantee they'd be tracking each and everyone of them down and arresting them and probably also freezing their bank accounts. Unfortunately the government does not really care much about crime that is not against them or a big corporation, so they just turn a blind eye.

Is there no youth leadership organizations in that city? Why aren't these kids out in force... I dunno, donned in Hazmat suits, cleaning up homeless encampments, building houses with Habitat for Humanity, etc. like Jimmy Carter and Joe Biden.

There are plenty of protests where none of that happens. Unless you are referring to the one where multiple police officers were assaulted, one died, and major political figures were hunted leading to a 'protester' being shot?

I will take a more level headed approach here. Before the court of public opinion takes over I would like to see what led up to this and what transpired afterward. Jumping to conclusions is normal most people do it.

I'm willing to believe that there's "Something in the water supply" around there, that affects their cognitive ability, and their ability to "stay polite". Lead?

I can't really recall this happening around Boston, though I've seen a micro-cosm of it at one of the bigger malls in a suburb of Boston. A fight broke out between some teens, and the cops got called in and dragged all of the affected parties out of there.

Could the throngs of teens in general be accused of "disorderly conduct" or "a breech of the peace"?

They get together and tear up the place then post videos on the internet to brag.

from the article in OP referencing the 'wilding' in Chicago:
"We as a city cannot and will not allow any of our public spaces to become a platform for criminal conduct," she said in a statement. "Most importantly, parents and guardians must know where their children are and be responsible for their actions. Instilling the important values of respect for people and property must begin at home."

Bring the parents of those teens (do I need to say "allegedly" here? It's quite clear on video a crime occurred) committing assault (assuming they are minors when the incident occurred) to trial as well, for felony assault charges, see if they give a shit what little timmy and diana are up to then.

Because they are little pieces of shit with no morals and absent parents that also don't give a shit.

At least there is hope for some.

Some of them will turn out fine. Unlike yourself. You've lived a long time, and you vote for folks with no morals or any decent values. You are a goner, unlike all of the kids, who have been born into unfair situations. Which makes your fake morals and values you pretend to have even more ironic

I will say, there's an awful lot of pressure, as far as politics and environmental disasters laid upon the youth of today by the boomers.

Many teens, so I've heard, are growing up with a lot of perceived hopelessness about a dystopian future, either politically (losing rights, war on women, minorities, and LGBTQ) or environmentally (planet going to shit, PFAS and plastics in food / water, etc.). No wonder they're stressed.

Unusually warm weather contributing to this??? Those kids don't look dressed for a heat wave at all. Hoodies, sweat shirts, that isn't a mall on a hot day.

For the youngsters here, "wilding" was a term invented by the white press back in the eighties to incite a panic over gangs of black youths rampaging through New York. The OP's use of the term is 100% pure lily white racism.

They may lack sufficient other avenues to get their energy and time. Give them things more interesting and they will do that instead.
I've been telling you all, we need to start subsedizing GPUs when teens turn 16, if they don't aready have one.

Imagine if they were all on Fortnight, or something, instead of beating up old women on the streets of Chicago.

I did not know the racial overtones of that word, thanks. I thought that it referred to basically any mob of teens acting badly.
