my kids have apparently spilled a bunch of milk over an old Dell Pentium M we used with them. If I can't fix it i'd like to find something with a chicklet keyboard because my littlest (1yr old) has pulled some of the keys off from the old style keyboard.

It's hard to figure out which ones use them though.
I know the new lenovo's do and some asus and toshiba.

does anyone know brands that use them more than others? I plan on buying used, perhaps on FS/FT, because I plan on them breaking another one before long.:colbert:

it's our almost 3yr old that uses it.
aal he does is use the website starfall.com. But my wife will grab it in the evenings to check email and shop on amazon.

Don't think I can swing a new tablet and a laptop right now. I was hoping to get the wife a tablet for Christmas

If you just need interent I'd say the new Samsung $250 Chromebook would fit the bill. You say she wants windows but if she's checking email and shopping on the web the whole time why does the OS matter?

If you can swing $300, BestBuy has this Asus with a Chiclet keyboard and Windows 7: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus---1...=1218688220686

Edit:
also comes in Lime Green same price: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+...5-5-307264-307266-25-2685-20-25-2685-3497-0-4

The Acer Aspire V5-171-6867 it has most of the features of an ultrabook for 550 USD. It can run Windows, which is an important feature. It has chiclet keyboard which on this laptop is excellent. Plus the same processor found in an ultrabook a Core i5-3717u.
