It's called self hate, being so emotionally small as to feel that to be able to draw attention to yourself over the fact that you recognize a porn actress on sight will demonstrate to your buddies that you are sexually sophisticated, knowledgeable, and experience as you draw them into your little circle of cognoscenti where they can enjoy the same immature self loathing emotional rush that you do. Why worry who you shit on when you have your needs to bandage over the fact you have no real self respect, as do all who watch porn. My my, how our feelings of worthlessness make us lust to involve ourselves in what we were told as children is taboo and dirty. Lets troll the bottom as fast as we can. Why not, when you feel worthless, what else to you have to flaunt. Poor poor sad filthy men who turn women into objects. What kind of mothers and fathers they must have had?

I feel a little bad for the outer and the outee. Neither of them seem to be kicking up much dust around the issue.

I can't say for sure I wouldn't have told my friends if I stumbled across a class mate in porn video while I was in college. That doesn't make it a classy move but, he's boned now. His name is going to be associated with this incident in Google which will hurt his chances of getting hired. If he does it that's probably going to hurt his career if he doesn't do it he gets to be the guy that could've boinked a porn star and got $10k, but didn't.

And just like that teacher you can't make multiple porn vids and not expect people to find out. That's very different from wanting people to find out though.

Never came across this site. Thanks guys. The wife is out for the day and I have some new material.

They submit stuff to efukt somewhat regularly. Look up Trolling of Wannabe Porn Stars and Anal Full Nelson. Guiltiest chuckles of my life.

I don't see all the hate for the guy who noticed/recognized her and told his buddies.

I suspect it will just make her much more money. I don't see why a porn 'star' wouldn't like the additional (and free) publicity.

I have to agree with michal1980. This woman outed herself and it was only a matter of time until someone else (like an employer outside the porn industry) would stumble upon her very PUBLIC porn career.

As for the company that "outed" this guy's subscription to a porn site well again michal1980 makes a valid point in that they violated their own policies toward privacy and this kid is in for a payday if he can get the right lawyer.

It depends how he 'announced' her line of work whether he has any chance when suing. If he mentioned a video that is subscriber-only they can just claim that he 'outed himself' that way already.
If he is extremely conservative and attacked her on doing porn while claiming that porn is wrong in general then his whole family will hear about it (if they haven't yet) if he sues. Not to mention it is then extremely unlikely he'll take the offer.

If they think he may take the offer I assume it was already discussed with her in case he'd pick her. And even then they could still screw him over by casting him next to Ron Jeremy or someone like that and then doing some mean cutting and pasting after filming. He's bound to look tiny next to a guy like that, and they could make a video of an hour where you see Ron busy for 55 minutes, 4 minutes of her talking to this guy, 1 minute or less of 'action', and then her saying 'It's ok, it's not your fault!'
Not sure he'd want to risk that :D

20 years ago being outed as someone who is gay and visited gay establishments could have had severe consequences on ones life, today not so much,

I expect the same with porn 20 years from now since todays generation is exposed to it from early childhood and thinks there is nothing wrong with it,

Having a school teacher who was a porn star could be considered just as acceptable as one that is gay.

This doesn't matter one bit. Since they have a privacy clause on their website and they went out and provided the information that he was a member of that website without his consent and in retribution (which the article states is the case) then they screwed up big time.

As for the woman involved she had already outed herself out by doing comercial porn which is a very public endeavor. In fact using the word "outed" in this case is very misleading because this was not an issue in which her videos would be kept private and only accessible by her and the porn studio she filmed for at the time. No, she was putting out material that was intended to be consumed by the paying public and thus she has no case period in terms of being "outed" or feeling as if she was "outed". For christ sake her videos were on the internet and available for anyone to see. lol

From what I gathered it sounded like the guy was bullying this girl in addition to making everyone know about her porn acting. It is still outing, regardless of the fact many men buy and watch porn. Most men don't announce to everyone in a college that they watch porn, and so know one really would have been the wiser had he never said anything. This just shows his level of immaturity. The kid outed himself by saying he watched her porn movies, so I highly doubt he will have much of a case or lawsuit, or the money to fight it out in court.

I dont think you understand what a big deal a company violating their written privacy policy is. Depending on his state of residence his AG may carry the water for him on it.

Its a tremendously big deal.

Its not "outing". Sorry but she made a commercially available porn movie of which the intent by the producer, studio and all involved is to make sure it is mass produced and sold and advertised EVERYWHERE to ANYONE who wants to buy it. Which includes publicity photos, clips posted on free porn web sites, etc. all available to the public There is no "outing" when you do something as publicly as shooting a commercial porn film meant for mass distribution. Lastly the guy involved does have a case and as TerryMathews stated he could very well cite state consumer protection and privacy laws in his state to make it a solid one on top of that websites own stated guaranteed policy of privacy.

Sadly, it often isn't.

Companies can and do change their terms and conditions quite regularly.

^^^Feral kid is correct, every company has as subject to terms & conditions which maybe changed at any time without notice. I know every wireless carrier has this or similar clauses built into their agreements

In a world full of dickless wonders we have one more immature college kid moving to the front of the line. "look at me! Look at me! I do porn and recognize a classmate from there who worked in porn to afford an education!"

you are an idiot.

She stared in a porn. how much privacy did she expect? If she didn't want embarrassment, how about not being a porn star?

Exactly this. How was she outed? Was she wearing a mask? Were there any efforts to hide her identity? I could maybe understand if she was stripping in a different state, and someone outed her. But she was staring in porn, the whole point of which is to be sold to the masses, very publicly. There is no expectation of privacy in your identity when you pose in publicly available media.

Hell, the porn industry itself outed that Miss Delaware just last year, where was the outrage then?

I also know many guys that brag about porn stars they went to high school with. I think most guys would share if they saw some girl they knew in a porn, except for those of you afraid to admit to your nasty habits.

EDIT: She has a public twitter page, with her pictures all over it, and it is some how against the rules for someone to say "Hey, I know her! Check this out."

Sadly, it often isn't.

It was on their website, as quoted earlier in this thread, after his name was released, and presumably before his name was released, therefore it was policy in effect at the time. You can't change a policy after you violate it and expect the change to get you out of trouble.

This porn company should be sued for outing him, and any one that's a member should live in fear and dump them for the actions of this crazy owner.

From the F.A. privacy/ faqs

"Will anyone know that I joined your site?
Not unless you tell them! However, we believe that it's a good thing to tell people you enjoy porn, more importantly that you enjoy our exact sites! But no worries, we will never tell! "

If I was Tom, I'd be demanding far more then 10,000 dollars. And odd's are I'd get it.

Your comments presume that Kulich owns or runs that website, and is therefore bound by its privacy policy. Kulich claims on Twitter that he doesn't, but that he figured it out because Knox appears on that site. I have no idea if he's telling the truth, but that's his defense. Kulich also complains that most of the stories published about this are factually inaccurate, and that only Huffington Post got it right.
