Prosecutors at the murder trial of 17-year-old Daniel Petric claim that the teen shot both of his parents, killing his mother, because they wouldn't let him play Halo 3.

According to prosectors, Petric, 16 at the time of the shooting, was forbidden to buy Halo 3 by his parents, Mark and Susan Petric. The teen snuck out to purchase the game anyway, and was caught by his parents upon his return. The game was locked up in Mark's lockbox, along with a 9mm handgun.

Mark Petric, a minister at the Life Assembly of God in Wellington, Ohio, testified that soon after on the evening of October 20th, 2007, his son entered the family room with a request.

"Would you guys close your eyes," Daniel Petric asked. "I have a surprise for you."

during the testimony they had the following exchange:

"Dad, I'm so sorry for what I did to Mom, to you and to the family," Daniel Petric said, according to his father. "I'm so glad you are alive."

"You're my son," Mark Petric responded. "You're my boy."

I am pretty sure....no, I know that if it was my kid....I would kick him in the balls as hard as I could before they hauled him off to jail.

rotten little bitch.

One day parents will all learn their lesson and just let kids play violent videogames and then these sort of unfortunate incidents will no longer occur. Censorship kills.

Maybe he thought they were on the red team?

They are all on blue team, just the kid is private Caboose.

Are you accusing him of TKing?

No, he was just helping them. Caboose never purposefully team kills.

When he said he has a surprise, he meant it. :p

I already decided that my kids aren't going to be watching any TV.

Now I'm starting to think that video games will be the next restriction...

I am guessing mom wasnt as good of a player as dad was, looks like dad was using his space bar to avoid taking as much damage, probably why he lived.

So the kid broke into the lockbox to get the game, found the gun and used it on his parents? The article left out lots of important details.

Oh, and a minister with a gun?

Doing so will increase the likelihood that they will end up even more fucked up than if you had you let them watch TV and play games.

psychopath in making... lock him up for life.

Also this is yet another piece of evidence that minister's kids tend to grow up all fucked up.
