A co-worker/friend from school stabbed a 22-year-old drug dealer in the chest 2 nights ago while trying to steal his money and weed. I never hung out with him outside of school/work, but he was always a nice a guy, liked to bullsh!t alot but I could never see him doing something like this. The guy he stabbed is in intensive care, and hopefully will survive. Pretty sad...18 years old, looking to spend his next 18 in prison. Whats wrong with people today? :(

Well, if the victim lives, then this kid might not get 18 years...but if it's shown to be pre-meditated, that's pretty serious stuff regardless.

So was your "friend" doing the stealing or was the drug dealer?

My "friend" was. The dealer resisted so my friend pulled the knife and stabbed him...:(

you guys really think he was trying to jack him for the weed? most weed slangers dont carry more than a couple 1/8's on em, maybe $150 worth of chronic, the guy would have to be a complete idiot to kill for that, he probably went for the $, also if the guy is selling coke he could have thousands in cash on him at any given time, i dont think the weed itself was the cause here

What did this have to do with pot? It didn't say anyone was high....

Oh, but you are missing the mentality and the arguments of the dopeheads......they will use this as an example of why it SHOULD be legalized. They will claim the stabbing would have never happened if their beloved drugs were legal.

This crime happened because pot is illegal. If it were legal, the "dealer" would not have been selling it in the first place and he would not have been attacked.

What does that have to do with weed as being the cause of the crime? You might just as well say it was money. "Oh, got to get rid of money... look what greed does to people."

If it had said "while trying to steal his money and toejam" would it have have been such a big deal? Would "toejam" all of a sudden become evil substance?

Weed didn't cause the crime. Money didn't cause the crime.

Of course, drugs are what make people rob and kill. People rob liquor stores, let's ban that too. Oh, and don't forget banks. We'd better do away with money while we're at it. And cars. Your breed are so myopic when discussing this topic it's surprising to me that you haven't indulged in whatever vice you're denouncing at the moment. Drugs don't make people commit crime any more than money makes somebody rob a bank. All people are capable of making poor decisions, and it's the fault of the person who made the decision, not the fault of the substance. Keeping drugs illegal is not going to encourage personal responsibility, that's just a wet dream for all of you nanny state nitwits that think drugs are the problem.

Hell yeah! Why bother with prescriptions, we should get whatever drugs we want, whenever we want!

Do people get stabbed over cigarettes? How many times have you heard of a bartender getting stabbed because he wouldn't sell someone a 6 pack?

Im sure its happened, but not nearly as much as people getting assaulted/murdered over drugs.

Hey, nice on topic reply there. It was so brimming to the top with logic that it completely and utterly refuted the post you were replying to. Good job, here's your cookie, and hold on to your deep seated notions that make you feel safer than having to choose.

- Would the dealer have been standing on the corner with drugs and hundreds or thousands in cash? No.
- Would the junkie have needed the cash if his drugs cost no more than legal "good" drugs like booze? No.
So
rolleye.gif
right back at you.

And FYI I don't use either kind of drugs (legal or illegal), I just figure the potheads aren't any worse than all the people here posting about how much they drank over the weekend.

My junior class had one rather dull lightbulb who had just transferred in a few months ago from a nearby town. One day he got busted while driving his car with a substantial number of dimebags. Was eventually prosecuted for intent to distribute.

A friend who went to see him in jail before his conviction said he was crying like a baby. He had always been kind of an asshole, as far as I could tell.

Shhh.....pot is harmless. ;)

If you think you are safer by making pot illegal you are in serious denial and need a reality check. All criminalizing pot has done is raise the price of it and create a criminal subcultural. I keep thinking that the US would have learned this lesson from Prohibiton. Have you heard of Al Capone and the Mafia?
