kid beyond: what equip does he use??

I saw him at love parade yesterday. he was doing the thing where he sings a short loop and then presses a pedal to keep it looping while he sings another loop and another, etc to make an entire song live by himself....simply amazing

anyway, does anybody know of how he does it? what equipment do lets you do that?
