We should stay in the U.N. and keep our veto powers as a permanent member of the security council. It would be insane for a permanent member of the security council to withdraw as we are in a very powerful position.

However, that does not mean we cannot treat the U.N. like the joke it is. The next time Hugo Chavez, Ahmadinejad or one of their wannabes / minions gives a batshit crazy speech, send our new U.N. ambassador in, Dennis Miller, with a script written by the creators of South Park, to give our counter-arguments.

Replace Dennis Miller with a comedian.

We should definitely kick the U.N. out and withdraw. We wouldn't be part of the WHO, the WTO, the World Bank, or the IMF anymore. We also wouldn't have any more U.N. wars. American sovereignly would be restored and americans could live without patents, could dump or receive dumped products, and wouldn't have global trade regulations. We also wouldn't be giving our tax dollars to the shit the U.N. does.

The WTO is anti-free trade, the WHO either doesn't know jack dempsey shit about medicines, or if they do, then they have a terrible agenda, the IMF is corrupt, and the World Bank is made up of overpaid loan sharks.

An idea that's not without merit. The problem is that many people think the UN does something of value.

What you nuts? What's gonna happen to NYC's drug, booze and prostitute business with those diplomats gone?

While I think the UN is a joke kicking them out would be a huge hit to NYC economy. Something we don't need right now. Let them stay, in the end who cares really.

Wow, there is a lot of ignorance about the UN in this thread. Kicking the UN out of the US is a lose-lose for the US and the rest of the world. Without the dialogue (no matter how absurd it may get at times) that the forum of the UN provides, the world would be a much more dangerous and unstable place.
