I finally picked up my pair of P3-1000Es this morning (see . here for details of the ordeal).

Now to see how fast they'll go. Hey MilkPowderR and BoYRaCeR, how much voltage did you guys need to hit 133FSB? I'm really hoping for dual 1333 sweetness.

A pair? Hahahah... u lucky punk. 133FSB is no problem at 1.95 for me... some people have it at 1.85... but 1.95-2.00 seems more common. MilkpowderR has his at a some crazy 2.3v hahaha. Im having problems right now though...i couldn't stand my noisy heatsink so i kinda put a smaller fan in there... and now it needs 2.1v to run Counter-Strike... but then it runs even more intensive games solid at only 1.95v... weird. Highest now is 52c and im still working at it... highest used to be 42-44 with my real noisy hs/fan. BTW im stuck at 1.95v as my lowest because i had to do the wire trick for Asus motherboards only... oh well... good luck! Try going to overclockers.com forums... as well... and if you have an Asus board check out cusl2c.com forums too. :)

I was positive they were going to send me a pair of Celerons or something.

Yeah, I was just reading about your CS problems. I slapped these things in last night to make sure all was well. It was. Then I tried bumping the voltage and FSB-no dice. It doesn't even try to post. My board (ECS D6VAA) seems weird with voltage. It subtracts about 0.10 from whatever you assign. I'm also thinking that the wire trick might be in order. I would think that it would at least try to post if it were actually getting the voltage I set it to. Might try that this weekend.

Good luck with CS.

Got it to post at 133, but no boot. I jumpered the board for 133 instead of just setting it in the BIOS. Did the wire trick, but it still undervolts the core. It should be coming up at 2.05, but it only delivers about 1.92, and I can't set it any higher. It's running at 1240 now. MBM says 2.03-2.05, but I believe the BIOS. MBM says 28-29 C at idle, one CPU goes up to 35 under load, the other goes up to 40.

Happy for now. This thing is pretty fast for e-mail and surfing. :)

hey Boyracer and Sward666,
Sward666, congrats on getting the pair of 1000E cD0's.. a lot of hassle wasn't it.. it seems like there are some dud 1000E chips that don't want to OC very high. They need more Vcore to get to the speed i.e. 1333mhz. Both of my P3 1000E's does 1333@ 1.8- 1.85V while few of the other owners at overclockers.com do at default voltage. I wish you good luck on getting your board to get the higher voltage. I believe it's just the voltage is what you need more in order to get your chip to work stably@ 1333. Once you succeed, try have the Vcore running@ 2.10V or something. It should make yours stable. good luck! :)

I got 2 retail P3 1gHz T's from newegg ;) They have an IHS like the tualatins but also have a Cumine core. They're in an server at work with a Tyan Thunder LE-T S2518UGN, so I can't OC them :( I also have dual Alpha PAL6035's on them. Beware, the new retail PIII's come with larger heatsinks which may not fit your mobo.
