Wow..this is a pretty good deal. Khypermedia is a child company of Kingston, that memory manufacturing company. And I haven't really gotten any problems with the discs I've used from them...but still, I'd be wary of storing very important data on them.

office max runs this deal every other month or so...
50 or 100 pack for under 10$ AR
good price even before rebate
khypermedias are good cdrs. I use those exclusively for short term stuff and
middle priority burning. like music back ups :D or old er... cartoons.... :D
or monthly backsup of ghost :D
Ive used khypermedias at all speeds coming from office max and microcenter
no complaints here :)
i also use memorex and tdks made in japan :)

khypermedia rules... these are some of the best discs.
fuji, khypermedia, pny, and verbatim are the best.

i wouldn't say they are some of the best discs. i think they are in the same class as the cheap riteks made in taiwan. they will work fine, but you can't really overburn on these

All of the K-Hypermedia discs that I've ever seen, have been mfg'd by CMC Magnetics, the other major (infamous?) cheapo taiwan disc maker besides Ritek. I have had better luck with the K-H branded media than the generic CMC media though, so it probably is a slightly higher grade of media that they sell under their retail label.

Does anyone have a link to the rebate? I bought a spindle of these last weekend and need to see if I can get the rebate. If not I'll return them and repurchase.

There's a link to a .PDF download on the page that I provided above. Rebate is only good from 7/21 to 7/27.

The link gives me a message saying sorry for the inconvenience... A search on the OM site for rebate or khypermedia doesn't show the 100pack spindle. If anyone has this, please email it to me. Thanks!

For some reason, if you click on the link a couple times, it should work... at least for me.

i thought K-Hypermedia uses the same dye as Philips:

Philips 40X are identified as:

ATIP: 97m 26s 66f
Disc Manufacturer: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.82MB (79m 59s 71f / LBA: 359846)

K-Hypermedia 8X are identified as:

ATIP: 97m 26s 60f
Disc Manufacturer: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Long strategy; e.g. Cyanine, Azo etc.)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 658.89MB (75m 00s 00f / LBA: 337350)

hmmmm, i guess they do use different dyes. anyone know the difference between Long Strategy and Short Strategy

Just another positive vote for the Khypermedia cdr's. Been using them a lot recently with excellent results.

this is the WORST media i have ever used, i have no problem with any other cdr but khypermedia. the VCD i burnt cant play on CDROM, the cd cant play, skip like hell. and the data file some cdrom reads as data, some read as 1 track music CD. maybe i just got a bad batch

I swear by these KHMs, out of the last 500 i burned, i dont recall one coaster, using a Plex 8x, Plex 24x, and Lite-On 24x
