KHX3000, are they still BH-5?

Has anyone recently purchased them? I currently have two 512MB sticks of it as dual channel kit. But they started to be not recognized by mobo (not always, but sometimes). I am thinking about RMA them, but wonder if I can still get BH-5 as replacement because I heard they don't use BH-5 for PC3000 anymore. Any word will be helpful!

As far as I know, BH-5 is not anymore available anywhere except few leftovers very expensive.
Mushkin pulled them out of their web site and so did Kingston. You might be lucky to find some leftovers in retail or online but there are no warranties.
Your best bet is Mushkin level 2 PC3500 at newegg.

I heard that they were going to start making BH5 chips again as they were so popular. I'll try and find a link from Google for you.

they are making CH-5 and BH-6 chips now
no more BH-5 unless you buy something someone has stockpiled

Pardon me for asking, but how can you tell what type of chip the ram is? I just bought 2 Kingston Hyperx pc4000 512 sticks and I would like to know should I keep it for oc or get something else. Thanks.

Those likely have Hynix D43 chips. As for keeping or returning, it all depends on your goals and the rest of your hardware.

I feel like I should be starting a new thread but here it goes. I have been slowly getting my parts to build a new pc and I am definitely going to overclock it. I want to build a amd 64 system using a 3400+ processor and am waiting for a sis 755 board to be made by someone other than ECS. I know that the overclocking potential for the 64's are low, but is using this ram a overkill or what? Thanks.

Kinda. If you're gonna use PC4000 an intel rig is generally what youll want. The A64 wont get a high enough FSb to use it where the intel can.

well, my memory is listed as khx3500k2/512 which according to the internet should be bh-5 chips, since the ch-5 chips use the designation khx3500ak2/512, but nope, they are ch-5 chips, not the bh.

SIGH..

What kind of ram would you recommend for my setup? I bought this memory because it only me $230 for both sticks brand new and I thought I could adjust it to a low latency hopefully at ~215-220 mhz.

If the ram doesn't have BH-5 or CH-5 chips does that make it bad? I"m just curious. I don't know the difference between the two types of chips. Right now I'm looking at some KHX PC3500. I think that would be great for overclocking needs of a Barton 2500+ because it's rated to 216 and I would be lucky to get to that. Thanks!!!!!
