kg7-raid northbridge fan question

i'm trying to figure out whether the fan on the northbridge chipset on the kg7-raid mobo is temperature controlled, meaning running slower when system temperature is low and running faster when the sys temp is up.

reason i'm asking is that on my recently build system the fan is spinning rather slowly, maybe a few hundred rpm's. but it seems to be spinning at an even pace and runs quietly. it does not give any indication of a broken fan like noise or uneven performance.

so before i go and replace a perfectly healthy fan i'd like to know what the scoop is. the abit site and manual don't offer any conclusive info.

thanx much!

Do a simple test; place your hand directly on the power supply, if it's not hot to the touch you don't have a problem.

I have the same mobo, the kg7 raid, and according to motherboard monitor it seems to always be between 2900 and 3000 rpm's.
