Hey guys, I wanted to see if you guys would check out a kewl app I wrote in my spare time. Basically the concept is that the script will look at a webpage the same way Google does. It will analyze the contents to understand the score of keywords on the page.

Your goal as a webpage design is to keep the keyword percent down and keep the keyword weight up. Test it out for youself and tell me what you think! Thanks guys!!

Keyword Extractor BETA

Your site is why my script is still beta!! For some reason it will not parse all of the content in your site. Thankx for the find. I'll let you know when I get it fixed. 😉

Yes, it's a web-based version of the AnalogX keyword extractor. I really liked AnalogX, but it had some limitations that I wasn't fond of. Like the URL couldn't be longer than 75 letters or so, which most of are...

Eventually I'm going to take my version a step further and make it so it will automatically write META tags for your websites, traversing your entire website and write META tags for each page. Also, possibly make it so you could compare two webpages and determine what you can do to your page to beat your competitor, etc... I'm always looking for ideas to make it better.

Only on AnandTech will you find people like you guys!! Everything is muchly appreciated!!!!

Hey. Just wanted to let you know I got engine fixed for the problem you experienced. Your links should work now. Anyone got and ideas on how I can improve the engine?

just one suggestion ... if you type in the addy w/out the "http://" thing you should make it automatically add the "http://" thingie when you submit it. just like how you can go to a website in IE by typing "www.google.com" in the bar instead of "http://www.google.com" . i think that would be a little more user friendly.

Deleted member 139972, awesome! I do have one more suggestion is that it seems to not handle words that are near parenthesis correctly(look near the end of my list), but besides that It seems to work well. MAy I ask what the problem was where it couldnt interpret my site?

Thanks for the suggestion. I made the change and it now supports pages without the HTTP:// at the start of the url.

I tried to look at the results to see what was wron with the parenthesis but your website is down. Sorry 🙁

As far as the problem parsing your website goes, it was a simple problem on my part. I wrote a function to skip over tags until it finds the matching tag:

IE: <script>STUFF TO SKIP HERE</script>

My function was trying to skip over your <style> tag but it couldn't find your closing </style> tag for a silly reason. Got it fixed now. 🙂 Thanks for the find WannaFly.

Looks good!! It's taking in some tags though, namely closing ones like </a>, </td> etc.

Can you tell me a website that will produce the results your talking about?

UPDATE!!! 🙂

I've made some nice additions to the extractor that I think you will find nice or handy.

  1. Suggests the META and TITLE tags that will get you good placement for your 10 strongest keywords
Moved the search entry box for easier access.
Made the result columns take up less space now with mouse-over definitions.
Gives a cool quote while your waiting for the extractor's results.
