Keyboards with letters at an angle - why?

Yep, honestly, this very question has been bugging me for a long time. But I considered it insignificant to post about it. Not long ago a visited an electronics shop and saw an iMac computer there, and was surprised to see that the keyboard of that $2K+ box had nothing but all letters at an angle. Strange, I always considered that quite annoying. Why would they do that? Are there any real advantages for that? I got a Mitsumi keyboard at work with angled letters and a normal one at home and the one at work is driving me nuts! I hate it to death b/c of it. Also, Sony Vaio computers seem to have the same problem. Why do they do it if it looks horrible and annoying, how do you think?

- Easiar to read when your sitting back.

- so you don't have to hold your wants directly over the keyboard.

- other miscellaneous(sp) comfort reasons.

Comfort reasons? I think these guys have some serious misconceptions about comfort. I can barely see letters on that keyboard, unless I'm sitting at an angle. Sucks.

they are comfotable, easy to use, and better for your hands. i got one and damn it is so much easier to type, and easier on my hands.

if you dont like it, its normally because you cant type the correct way

now this is assuming that by angle, you mean an ergonomic keyboard (split down the middle, keys angled to the side)

I mean letters (characters) on keys printed at an angle, not the physical shape of the keyboard or keys.

ok, I'm baffled, what the hell DO you mean? pictures perhaps?

Wow, it's really depressing that you get so annoyed at something so trivial... To think, somewhere someone is starving and we b1tch about letters being in italics.. Sheesh.. Learn to type and STFU...

You would be SURPRISED at how many people look at the keys!

Remember the old IBM clicky keyboards? (heh, I'm using one to type this!) Well you can take off the key covers and move them. I did this once on a system that was used by several operators. One individual flat out said the computer was broken as the incorrect input was registering! Go figure.

Cheers!
