Keyboard won't work in Linux...arghh!!

Ok, I'm sure this is simple (at least I hope) but it's driving me nuts. I installed Slackware Linux into separate partitions from Windows. Install went perfect. I finish up install, create LILO bootdisk, it reboots into Linux, and leaves me at the boot: screen. Here's the problem: the keyboard doens't work. It works in the install, but when I reboot with the boot disk in, it doesn't (no lights, no nothing). Any thoughts for a poor helpless Linux newbie?
