Keyboard won't work in BIOS

Ok, stupid question time..

My roomate just put together his new A64 system.. specs aren't really important but it is has a Soltek K8AN-RL motherboard.

I couldn't figure out why it wasn't booting up, it wouldn't even give an error beep. Well, it turns out he had switched the PSU from 110v to 220v and that was the only thing keeping it from booting..

Ok, here is the stupid question, would turning on the computer with the PSU set to 220v damage anything in the system? Because now that it will POST we can't get the keyboard to work in the BIOS. It recognizes the keyboard when the delete key is pushed but once inside the BIOS nothing responds..

We have tried 5 different keyboards in the apartment..so at the very least it is not just a broken keyboard.

Thanks for your help. 😛

did u check and see if the ps/2 port is damaged in any way? by any chance were all the keyboards usb? booting at 220 shouldnt create the problem which you are encountering

The thing is, all the keyboards work ANYWHERE except the BIOS.. even had a USB keyboard plugged in that worked just fine anywhere except IN the BIOS. Very odd..

They all even work in the RAID BIOS, just not system BIOS

If we could find such a thing as an updated BIOS 😛

As far as I can tell, Soltek has not released any new BIOS for this board

I probably should have fleshed out the things we tried a bit more... 😛

We did reset the CMOS several times

I figure it is probably either a faulty motherboard or a retared BIOS... couldn't be a damaged PS2 port since a USB keyboard works just as well as a PS2 keyboard
