Keyboard vs Gamepad

which one is better for gaming ? I have a logitech dual action and was trying to get it to work properly with unreal tournament without success but just wanted to say that sometimes playing with a gamepad is much easier , and u can be more layed back....of course for games like age of empires its completely useless

A controller for ANY game is useless. Mouse and keyboard all the way.
 
I might be a weird guy but I use either keyboard + mouse (RTS, RPG, FPS) or my good, old, trusted Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick (sports, racing, sims).
 
I use gamepad for some console ports/emulation only. FPS games are horrible on a pad. Indeed, most native PC games suck on a pad. Speaking of pads, I tried that Logitech, and it was awful. I exchanged it for a Thrustmaster Firestorm, MUCH better.
