keyboard unresponsive after bios/post

alright, when i start my computer my keyboard will work in bios but when the windows screen appears it freezes, cant even hit the "lock" keys, its just in a frozen state. i had a cordless usb keyboard but it broke so i switched it to a ps/2 keyboard...and i have tried two ps/2 keyboards, no go...any help???

Try going into safe mode. Press F8 on the keyboard after it lists the hardrives/cdroms during post, and see if you can get into safe mode.

Doesn't really sound like a keyboard problem, more like a windows problem. Give stevty's suggenstion a try, safe mode is a great way to trobleshoot...also, if everything is working ok in the bios, you know the hardware is likely ok, but something is going wrong with windows
