keyboard takes 5-10 seconds sometimes to pop up

I have a Moto G and I am not sure if it is a Chrome issue or the phone but there are times when it will take 5-10 seconds to open up. When it does pop up sometimes it will go right back away, has anyone here experienced this?

My best guess is that you're RAM starved.

Although, keyboards like Fleksy and Swiftkey can get pretty bloated.

It's worth looking into lighter browsers and keyboards.

Lack of ram. My phone has that once in a while and it's a 4 year old HTC Sensation.

The keyboard comes up normally in SMS, chrome is where I have the huge delays

Yep chrome is almost certainly using a lot of ram so the keyboard has to reload, only real solution is to use a different browser or just wait for the keyboard to reload.
